Adisham Village is named after 'Adisham', a monastery run by Benedictine monks. The village comprises of a few families, with the monastery being the catalyst that binds them. The Thangamale Bird Sanctuary, declared a protected area in 1938 and 131 hectares in extent hugs the village.
